This year local breakfast cereal manufacturer Weetabix is an official partner of Comic Relief. Weetabix employees have set themselves the challenge of raising £5000 for the charity. One of the fundraising events was a hockey match against Market Harborough, a local hockey Club. They were delighted to support this worthy cause. On a cold evening on Friday 20th February the match was played in front of vocal crowd. Despite a number of the Weetabix team having never held a hockey stick before the match was closely contested with Market Harborough winning narrowly 3-2.

However, the overall winner was Comic Relief, with £1,000 being raised so far by a combination of match fees, sponsorship and a refreshments stand. Thanks to Market Harborough Hockey Club, who are always looking out for new members, and thanks also to Welland Park Academy for providing the pitch free of charge.
