Ladies Cup Win

We’re really pleased to announce that our ladies team won the Leicestershire County Cup this weekend.

Well done ladies! Here’s the match report from the captain, Kerry Moralee:

Market Harborough Ladies defeated Loughborough Students in the final of the County Cup on Saturday 28th March in a thrilling match in Mountsorrel. The match was just what a cup final should be with end to end stuff and the result in doubt right until the end. In fact, the score at the final whistle was 4 – 4 with goals for Harborough from Megan Purdie, Ellie Hand, Kelly Smith and Sue Henderson and the match was decided on penalties. Harborough’s keeper, Jaime Allison, made a superb save from Loughborough’s first penalty and goals from Megan Purdie, Liane Brookin, Anna Smalley and Kelly Smith ensured victory for Harborough in the end. The cup win caps a fantastic season for the ladies which also saw them finish a close second in the league to Loughborough Students after a brilliant run of 10 wins in a row since the Christmas break.
