Our first league match of 2019, unfortunately didn’t go the way the Mixed A team had hoped…

Mixed A lost 1-10 at home to Horizon

Goal: Adam Pardon

“New year, new mindset! After the Christmas break the Mixed A were ready to play Horizon, in round 2 of the season.

The first half was a chance for both teams to get back into their game and assess their strengths and weaknesses. Harborough found their feet after the first few minutes of the match, marking players and communicating well. Both teams dominated the game at different points, however Horizon were stronger, winning the first half 5-0.

After a half time talk and plenty of encouragement the Mixed A went back out with their heads held high. Harborough showed a lot of improvement as the team marked, communicated and used the space well with early passes. Horizon scored a few more goals… but not too many thanks to keeper Jake Wilson, the defence, and the whole team making early interceptions of Horizon’s passes. The second half, over all, was a better team performance, and Adam Pardon scored a goal for Harborough from a short corner.

Well played everyone – final score was Horizon 10, Mixed A 1.”
