Our results and reports from the weekend…

Men’s 1 lost 2-5 at home to Atherstone Adders 1‬

Goals: Nicholas Hall & Ali Williams

Player of the Match was Tom Bradshaw

‪Men’s 3 drew 2-2 away to Rugby & East Warwickshire 7‬

‪Goals: Matti Hodgson & Sam Haynes-Coote‬

Player of the Match was Matti Hodgson

“The Men’s 3rd team traveled away to play Rugby & East Warwickshire 7 and came back with a hard earned point.

Harborough started brightly and really forced the pace in the first half, dominating possession and creating several chances. Unfortunately Rugby took the lead after a penalty corner shot struck a foot on the line, and the GK was beaten by the resulting penalty stroke.

Undaunted, Harborough continued to apply pressure and were rewarded with two goals – Matti Hodgson scoring with a deflection from a well-worked penalty corner, and Sam Haynes-Coote forcing home from close range, after a bit of a scramble. This was probably the best half of hockey the team has played all season!

Unfortunately we all went to sleep a bit at half time, and Rugby came at us strongly at the start of the second half and scored the equaliser, and should really have taken the lead. Harborough recovered from this and started to play again but didn’t manage to force a winning goal. By the end of the half the game opened up and either side could have won. I think Harborough just about edged the game, but a draw was a fair result.”

‪Mixed A lost at home to Leicester Thursday‬

Our U10 Girls played in a tournament hosted by Leicester Ladies at Leicester Grammar on Sunday.

U10 Girls

“A fine performance from our U10 girls today. Our older girls held the field well, keeping possession and scoring goals, while our new youngsters learned a lot from playing with the team. The team’s performance improved in every match.

Great work girls, the future at MHHC is looking bright!”
