Saturday:

Men’s 1 won 3-1 away to Nuneaton 1

Goals: Tom Williams, Robert Read & Jordan Allen

Player of the Match: Thomas Parry

“Harborough were the winners of the top-of-the-table clash against Nuneaton 1, and remain unbeaten at the top as they begin the second half of the season.”

Men’s 2 drew 1-1 at home to Rugby & East Warwickshire 6

Goal: Matt Cook

Player of the Match: Mike Haynes-Coote

Men’s 3 lost 1-8 at home to Hampton-in-Arden 4

Goal: Wyn Sleeman

Player of the Match: Jason Perry

Women’s 1 lost 1-3 at home to Loughborough Town Women’s 2

Goal: Sally Trappitt-Jones

Player of the Match: Emily Grimmett

“In first half Harborough kept possession of the ball and dominated the pitch, helped by some great runs and passes by everyone. Despite the many opportunities, an unfortunate short corner for the opposition led to a penalty flick – which they scored leaving the team 1-0 down at half time.

In the second half Harborough again kept possession of the ball with some great play around the pitch. The team finally took advantage of a short corner with swift play around the D that led to a pacy goal from Sally Trappitt-Jones.

From then on in Harborough looked the most likely to win with some great work down the right of the pitch and Emily Grimmett using her blistering pace to burst into the D at every opportunity. Once again though Harboough didn’t take their chances and just as they thought they would hold on for a draw, with 3 minutes to go, Loughborough broke forward to score a late winner. As Harborough pushed for an equaliser they broke again making the final score 3-1 to Loughborough. An unlucky defeat but an amazing game from all the girls! Player of the match went to Emily Grimmett, solid as always.”

“The Mixed Teams fourth straight league victory, with help from Jordan Allen and Jon Cooper, and Beth Pedler grabbed her first goal for the Club assisted by Laura Jarmulewki. Jake Sutherland capped a fine performance as Captain, Sam Haynes-Cootes bled for the team, Harry Wilford ran everyone to a standstill and Cian Kirke found time to pass the ball to his mum, Sally, who played a blinder, as did Emily. “
