Planning permission is approved for the new pitch at Robert Smyth Academy

We are very pleased to report that earlier this week the Harborough Council planning committee voted 8-1 in favour of approving the planning application for the new pitch at Robert Smyth Academy.

We would like to say a big thank you to everybody, young and old, that has contributed in whatever way—every chat, email and phone call. You all contributed to help raise awareness and demonstrate the community need that has been instrumental in getting the pitch approved.

Thank you to those that helped with the many long steps along the way, including securing the bulk of the funding from various partners. A special mention to Lee Fletcher (a teacher from the Tudor Grange Academies Trust of which the Robert Smyth Academy is part of), who has been instrumental in pulling everybody together.

This is the start of a great relationship between MHHC and Robert Smyth Academy. Watch this space for news of the buidling of the pitch as the project begins.
