The Men’s 2s won a dominant victory putting 9 goals past Nuneaton in what turned out to be a very scrappy game, but with a good start we were 3-0 by half time.

After the break we kept applying pressure to go another six goals up. Unfortunately due to a defensive error we could not keep a clean sheet, but it was a very good game for us all round.

Player of the Match: Luke van Diepen

Men’s 3 won 6-0 away to Coventry & North Warwickshire 3
Goals: Owen Arthur, Richard Goswell, Finn Ingram-Hawkes, David Littlewood, Ben Matthews & Wyn Sleeman

Women’s 1 lost 1-3 away to Coventry & North Warwickshire 1
Goal: Evie Hunter

Women’s 2 won 3-2 at home to Oundle 1
Goals: Susan Burton (2) & Niamh Burton

It was clear from the start that the Women’s 2s could finally be within a gnat’s whisker of a win as a fair-matched game was played out with numerous chances from both sides.

To the team’s amazement, and utmost joy, we scored the first goal; from out on the right wing Jennifer Pollock smacked the ball across the goal for Sue Burton to pick up on the left post and place the ball behind the keeper.

The second was a series of beautiful passing moves from the back, around the opposition and up the pitch to Jennifer, to pass to Niamh Burton to carry along the baseline and slip past the keeper. Utter perfection. Sue Burton confidently scored her second sneaking in from the left to win the match.

Well played all! POM – everyone!

Badgers lost 1-5 at home to Northampton Saints 2
