Our results from the weekend...

Saturday:

Women’s 1 won 7-0 at home to Leicester University Women's 1
Goals: Charlotte Butler (3), Hattie Hammond, Liv Edwins, Emily Grimmett & Sally Trappitt-Jones
Player of the Match: Emily Grimmett

"The beginning of the match was slightly static, and Harborough started a bit slow. However, it was particularly clear the 1s were dominating the pitch and keeping it in their possession. The defence played extremely well around the back, as the ball was played from Sam Care to Sally Trappitt-Jones who smacked it to Abigail Reeves and with a quick pass to Ellie John and straight through to Charlotte Smith, who did a quick pass to Liv Edwins for Charlotte Butler to swerve past the keeper and tap into the goal.

The second goal was scored by Hattie Hammond who protected the ball from the opposition bringing it into the D and shooting. Third was a flick from Charlotte to the left of the keeper straight into the net. The fourth was scored by Liv who skilled past the opposition and straight into the goal! Second half, after receiving plenty of shorts the team finally got some in. Emily Grimmett scored a goal from a short corner. Another corner was scored as Sally got the ball, passed it to Charis who sent a quick pass to the P-spot for Sally to smash it in. Charlotte scored another cracker from open play, right through the players and into the goal!

Everyone played exceptionally, using those small, quick passes to keep possession of the ball. Well played all!"

Women’s 2 won 6-1 away to Roundhill Women's 1
Goals: Ella Partridge (4), Jennifer Pollock & Lucy James

"Women's 2s won 6-1 away to Roundhill in an enjoyable match, once the hail showers had passed!

Ella Partridge was on form and bagged herself 4 goals, and Lucy James and Jennifer Pollock scored one each. The team would have scored many more if it wasn't for Roundhill's fantastic GK, who naturally won their POM. Well played all!"

Women’s 3 lost 2-3 at home to Ashby Ladies 3s
Goals: Laura Jarmulewski & Cat Dabbs

Men’s 1 won 8-1 away to Coalville 2
Goals: Tom Whitehouse (4), Jon Cooper, Ryan Harrison, Nick Hall & Thomas Parry
Player of the Match: Tom Whitehouse

Men’s 2 won 4-1 at home to Northampton Saints 5
Goals: Matt Cook (2), Noel Burton & Wyn Sleeman
Player of the Match: Matt Cook

Men’s 3 lost 0-3 away to Warwick 5
Player of the Match: Luke Reeves

"The Men’s 3s played Warwick 5s today, but unfortunately Harborough only had 9 players whereas Warwick had a full team, and four subs. But this wouldn’t stop Harborough from putting a massive effort in.

At the end of the first half the score was 1-0 to Warwick, Luke Reeves made a good save but it was rebounded and the bal went over his head and into the goal. As the second half was under way Harborough fell 2-0 down. Harborough fought right to the end and put a great defensive effort in the entire game. Towards the end of the second half a third goal was scored for Warwick. The final score was 3-0 to Warwick.

Player of the match goes to GK, Luke Reeves, for making some great saves."

Sunday:

Men’s 1 lost 2-4 away to Panthers Men's 1st XI (EH Championships)
Goals: Jon Cooper & Ryan Harrison
Player of the Match: Mark Cunningham
