Results - 15 & 16 October

Results from the weekend – the Women's teams continue to win and draw, but sadly the lads came second in their matches. Cup matches next week, then we all go again after the break.

Saturday

MEN'S 1 lost 2-6 at home to North Notts 1

Goals: Simon Chapman

Player of the Match: Simon Chapman

MEN'S 2 lost 3-4 away to Warwick 3

Goals: Elliot Roper, Cameron Smith & Luke van Diepen

Player of the Match: Cameron Smith

MEN'S 3 lost 0-6 at home to Atherstone Adders 3

The 3rds came up against a very strong Atherston side and came out 2nd best by 0-6.

With two subs for once hopes were high at the start but two early injuries to Toby Fletcher and Julian Evans meant we were soon up against it. In addition to the injuries, Ant Raisbury and David Littlewood decided to help the opposition even more by both picking up cards and having a rest on the side line.

A rest next week and then hopefully back to winning ways.

MEN'S 4 lost 1-10 away to Rugby & East Warwickshire 6

Goal: George Smith

Player of the Match: Haydn Moss

A game of two halves, four seasons and two rainbows.

A mixture of youth and experience took on a well drilled Rugby and Warwickshire at a cold and windy Hart Field. The home team started well and barely a few minutes had passed before Harborough were one down. Rugby added three more before the monsoon when George Smith clawed one back for Harborough. The rest of the first half saw Harborough chasing the game and conceding another 5.

A rousing half-time speech and the second half began with the visitors playing better hockey, keeping the opposition at bay. Harborough gelled well I the second 35 with the newer players gaining in confidence, doing the basics and reading the game a lot better. With two minutes left Rugby notched into double figures before the umpire blew for the end of the match.

Player of the Match goes to Haydn Moss for great play in the second half and covering many yards from attack to defence. Rest up, we go again in two weeks.

WOMEN'S 1 won 5-3 away to Half Century 1

Goals: Hattie Hammond (2) & Charlie James (3)

Player of the Match: Ruby Howe

Sunday

WOMEN'S 2 drew 2-2 away to Loughborough Town 4

Goals: Niamh Burton & Harriet Goswell

Player of the Match: Maisie Howe
